In October 2013 the ‘golden visa’ was introduced in the Netherlands. Foreign investors can obtain a Dutch residence permit if they invest € 1,25 million in an Dutch innovative company or selected investment fund which will invest in companies in the Netherlands. The golden visa barely attracted any investors. A maximum of 20 foreign investors applied for the golden visa since its introduction almost 6 years ago. Out of this 20 applications, less than 10 golden visa were granted. At the end of the year an evaluation of the current golden visa regulation will take place.
